The first few weeks are a bit off from the norm, but that is what you signed up for. You are a different person now. You are a non-smoker and that will take some time and practice getting used to. After all, who are you now? This is the fun part. You can go anywhere and do anything without that ball and chain (the cigarette and lighter). What a relief. You are free. All you have to do now is stay free. Your sense of well being will increase every minute of every day, of every week of every month. Hang in there. THere is nothing better than freedom from addiction.
Cheers and congratulations.

Lisa,
Are the antibiotics starting to help yet? Hoping you’re feeling better!

Hi Jenny,
Not really better except appetite is sometimes better. Are you feeling better ? I had to cancel tomorrows appointment and Fridays appointment isn't looking promising.
I miss being here . I have been lurking on and off. I am having difficulty with distracting myself due to not feeling well. Thursday will be 3 weeks of not smoking . YAY !!
We are getting an ice storm starting Wednesday AM thru early morning Thursday. It doesn't sound good. I am hoping that I don't lose power from the storm.

Lisa,
3 weeks in just over 1 day? Yay!! That’s amazing. I think we’ll all look forward to sending some congrats messages that day.
That sucks you aren’t better yet. Hopefully the icky antibiotics do their job soon!
I’m doing better each day and mostly left with exhaustion now. So happy to not be like I was Saturday. Now I’m restless, but don’t have energy to do anything. I’m so sick of watching tv. I watched tv all day Sunday and Monday, lol.
Ice storm sounds bad. I hope you stay safe and your power stays on!

Hi Erica,
Thanks , you are doing great too !
Yeah , I am one of those people that needs positive visuals. Plus for me it is fun to put the sticker on each day before I go to bed , as in yay I NOPED another day.

Thanks Anne for your support. Still sick and well, quite frankly bored and requiring extra sleep each day.

I am sorry to hear you are still unwell. Here is a sunshine hug to give you a smile.

Anne, you are so awesome. And you make a really good point about the initial withdrawal taking only days, not weeks. That is the typical experience for most ex-smokers and certainly what newcomers to this site need to hear. Nicotine has a short half life and withdrawals only take a couple of days. I need to be mindful of that when I overshare/post about how I struggled for weeks--my experience is not typical and was most likely exacerbated by how my brain is wired (history of alcoholism and addiction, now in remission thank god).
Anyway, hope everyone is having a great week!!!!! Every day I wake up as a non-smoker is a gift. I am finding that I am sleeping better--maybe for the obvious reason I'm not waking up in the middle of the night to smoke. Yahoo!

Lisa,
Congrats on 3 weeks!!! I sure hope those antibiotics are starting to work for you. Keep those stickers going. Do you have a reward in mind for your one month? Can you believe that will be coming up so soon??
