The Chinese doctor who was one of the original whistleblowers on coronavirus has died, according to the New York Times, the Washington Post and ABC News. Earlier in the day, Wuhan City Central Hospital, where Li Wenliang was being treated, said on the Chinese social media site Weibo that doctors there were trying to save him.

There has been an outpouring of grief and anger in China after the doctor who raised the alarm over the coronavirus died of the disease.

Dr Li Wen Liang was harassed by the authorities after he posted his fears about the new virus on social media at the end of December. Dr Li's death has focused anger on China's communist leadership, sparking calls on social media for more freedom of speech.

The Chinese seem much more outraged by the treatment of whistle-blowers than we are.

So much for "democracy" and the superiority of the West.

China completely entrusts the worst human rights criminalities!  worried

That’s not even counting what’s happening in their encampments. Chinese are dying in throngs, a great deal than reported and yet they condemn countries for travelling prohibition. The real numbers could surprise the world.

Fox News and social media,  conspiracy theory about the origin of the health crisis won’t die.

Two main versions of the rumour, and they have one common thread: that the coronavirus, SARS-CoV-2, originated in a level 4 (the highest biosafety level) research laboratory in Wuhan.

One version, the virus was engineered in the lab by humans as a bioweapon.

In another version, the virus was being studied in the lab (after being isolated from animals) and then “escaped” or “leaked” because of poor safety protocol.

The Wuhan Institute of Virology is a real place, and the exact origin of the novel coronavirus is still a mystery, with researchers racing since the outbreak began to figure it out.
