Death by Government: Genocide and Mass Murder Since 1900 1st

Edition, Kindle Edition
by R. J. Rummel  (Author)

The underlying principle is that the less freedom people have, the greater the violence; the more freedom, the less the violence. Thus, as Rummel says, "The problem is power. The solution is democracy. The course of action is to foster freedom."

This Is the Number of Innocent People Murdered by Governments. Are You Anti-State Yet?

Some people being antigovernment is the logical result of taking a close look at the state and its bloody works.

ARMENIANS WERE SLAUGHTERED BY THE THOUSANDS

Ottoman forces sought to rid of the region of Armenian landmarks such as churches, homes and other cultural sites by destroying or confiscating the properties. According to the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, “tens of thousands of Armenian children were forcibly removed from their families and converted to Islam” because the Ottoman government wanted them to assimilate into Turkish society. In some cases, children could convert to Islam in exchange for staying alive. In addition to the Armenians, the Ottoman government targeted non-Turkic minorities, namely Yezidis, Assyrians and Greeks.

Yes, I know about Osman, the Seljuk Turk, the man who is seen as the founder of the empire (his name is sometimes called Ottman or Othman, hence the term ‘Ottoman’). The Seljuks had arrived from the Asiatic steppes in the 11th century AD and had been in Anatolia for generations, while Osman had ruled a tiny Anatolian territory at the end of the 13th century and the early 14th century. He was very much a warrior in the mold of other great cavalry officers of the Middle Ages.

It should apply to all governments.

Congressmen are paid by the DC Corporation so no wonder they can ignore the interests off their states.
