What’s behind Germany’s hesitance over Leopard 2 battle tanks?

Germany’s chancellor, known to be careful and stubborn, is reluctant to greenlight tanks, but few understand his motives.

Berlin, Germany – Ukrainian soldiers in the field now use German Gepard anti-aircraft guns to defend their skies, German anti-tank weapons to pierce Russian armour, and German howitzers to shell enemy troops.

But the prize that Ukraine urgently seeks to regain territory before an expected Russian offensive this spring, the German-manufactured Leopard 2 battle tank, remains frustratingly out of reach.

The Leopard 2 is a 3rd generation main battle tank originally developed by Krauss-Maffei in the 1970s for the West German army.

Every weapon and Tanks are financed by the citizens of the UK, France, USA and Canada! 

What does this look like - taxpayer, WWII?? 

NATO is hesitant as well, because they are mostly friends with the Russian government.

Just what we needed more spending for wasted killing machines... RUSSIA will explode them all into dust, and yes this could easily trigger WWIII  --  can't these warmonger sit around a table for a peacefull discussion ?

UKRAINE WANT TANKS BY THE HUNDREDS. 

Kyiv has been calling for months for Western main battle tanks that would give its forces greater firepower, protection and mobility to break through Russian defensive lines and potentially reclaim territory occupied by the invaders.

Andriy Yermak, the head of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s administration, reminded Kyiv’s allies that it wanted tanks in the hundreds, adding on Telegram: “This is what is going to become a real punching fist of democracy.”

Germany, previously the West’s holdout, said it would send an initial company of 14 of its Leopard 2 tanks from its own stocks, and also approve shipments by other European countries.

These battle tanks will cost a few billions.

War not only kills everyone but it hits everyone's wallet.
