Not always so. My kids were raised that they could not spend or play with a new gift until the thank you was written. Son #1 had their wedding thank you cards done within a couple of days. Son #2 took over 6 months with some "encouraging" fro mom.

Honestly, i am quite put out by this. I don't care if "current norms" preclude a thank you card. Common courtesy says that you acknowledge a kindess done on your behalf.
I quite agree with you on this. Sadly, it seems to be a generational point of view. Somewhere between the time we were raised and the current times, there has been a general disconnect in social mores. Growing up, my Mom gave me seven days to write thank you notes; when I got married, the expected standard was 30 days.

Jo ANN Fabric Store will not bag your stuff you buy.
I was in ours yesterday and they're still bagging in Tucson. Would hate for them to stop.

I was telling Laura about it and she said Jo Ann does where she live Peoria ,PH area does.

Normal rant in my books.. I always send a thank you and taught my kids to do the same.
Granted, my two oldest grandsons 12 &10 will text me a Thank you in ALL CAPS with the emoji of a hug... And at Christmas they take photo's with my gifts and text right away. Not the "paper" notes we used.. but at least they do acknowledge.

I’ve always wondered how much was left over after a lottery win. She was taxed harder bc she was single, correct?

Maybe Dee will pop in. I’m curious, I always thought there was a higher tax bracket for single filers.

I can understand why your reluctant to move twice. But you could be losing out too. Start a new tradition on your new ranch.
you always have a proper attitude. It’s just a big ole step. ♥?
Thanks so much Laura. I appreciate your kind and encouraging words. I've been packing some of my sewing room. Oh girlfriend! Let me tell you I've been deeply reminded of ALL the partial projects I have stashed. If I would just finish them or get them outta my stash for good! So when we finally get the house built and my sewing room put together I will get on with those!
ETA: That must be some deep psychological impairment indicating fear of finishing things and moving on to the next! lol

Your prices and stats for how AZ is rated these days sounds like CA. I'm sad for you all.
