The mat is a wonderful idea and a very thoughtful gift for your mom. It should give her much sensory pleasure.

Good for you! We put up outside decorations this year but DH never got around to lights. His right leg went out on him twice this morning so he will not be happy when I tell him that he can't get up on a ladder to take things down or put them away.

A wonderful gift! I was in the middle of making DMIL one when she passed away. Found the blocks after all was done. Yours is really pretty.

the mat is lovely. And right up your alley too, with your love of embellishment and alternative type processes.

I haven't sewn much at all in weeks, not since I finished DS's Koi/shark quilt. He did like the quilt, took it back to school with him. Though his first comment was "I don't like fish" - ha! I have finished up 2 baby quilts for 2 baby showers this weekend, both for friends of DD. Now I'm not sure what to work on. I need to flip through my idea "notebook" (electronic file) and see what strikes my fancy. I did work on a little soft baby book that Judy A. tagged me on several weeks ago. I may do a few more just to have on hand (posted in a separate thread).

Hello Everyone!
I haven't done much sewing since a 4-day marathon at Kiki's just before Christmas. I have a lot to work on but haven't had the energy or motivation. I need a kick in the behind to get going again!
But I did finish 2 tops along with the backings from 2013 and 2014 and those are now at the guild's stash. They will be finished by the guild and then given to charity. I also donated a Round Robin top that will also be given as charity.
