Yup practice is what leads to improvement and charity quilts are great for that because you can do anything you want.

Got home from our 5,855 mile road trip safely.
Holy moley! That is *some* road trip!
It is good to return home, though. :-)
He would love some time in the observatory but we need some clear skies. We been getting overcast skies in the evenings even with nice sunny days. He just had a repair done in Tucson today so he will be ready.

It must be nice to be back in your sewing room.
And back in my own bed also!
I know what you mean being in your own bed. Last summer I drove over 5000 miles. I was so ready to get into my own bed. I went to Lex and Richmond KY four days over Thanksgiving. The Last week of Dec I am going to stop in IL to see my 96 yr old dad. Then on to Mo for a week visiting friends. And to Mo Star Quilt Shop.I have a friend that live in MO and she bought my Go Cutter.I had it since 2018 and have never use it. It was the big Lectric. So I am dropping it off at her front door. She is going with me to Mo Star. Then coming home I am stopping in AK where I buy my batting by the roll.

I wish I could sell my Go Big. I have a ton of dies with it. It’s a few years older than yours and I’ve used it maybe a dozen times.
Sandy you're on Facebook put it on Marketplace that was my intention to do it and for somehow it got on Facebook and Julie is on Facebook she's my friend I mean I can almost guarantee you you will sell it right away if you put it on Marketplace or Facebook I had mine sold in 3 days
Now I didn’t even think about Marketplace! Thanks.
In the process of recovering from invasion of DS and family for Thanksgiving. (A forty-eight hour visit was just about right.) After the dust settled I sat down and worked on the block from Quilter's Cache named "Buckwheat". For the life of me I cannot see a buckwheat pancake in this block nor is there any hint of the buckwheat plant and I can honestly say I would hate to make a bed quilt out of nothing but this block. But it commemorates my lifelong love of buckwheat pancakes drenched in butter and maple syrup.
I found stitching this block (keeping track of color placement) very slow going. I must be getting old.
