Two more wonderful blocks and stories!  The top one would be beautiful hardwood flooring.  I have the same puzzle fabric that I used as backing for the retirement quilt I made for our special ed teacher.  How many blocks have you made so far?

There are thirty blocks on the design wall and two in the reject pile. Fabrics for three more are on the way.

(DD put on her thinking cap and made some suggestions when I told her I thought I might be running out of ideas.)

Your quilting is perfect for this.  You are a master quilter.

aw, thanks.  I don't think I'm any where near "master" but I am getting better and that's all I want.

It's DONE!  and flat - I'm surprised given how lumpy, bias, etc the top was.  I do eventually need to soak out all the starch that I used to control the top before quilting.  But I may wait until after the quilt show in September - it is just so nice and flat right now.  I also abandoned the idea of a flange and just used a fabric with equal amounts of black and white.  I think it works and it's kind of fun.  (Judy K, you should recognize that white "splatter" fabric in the bottom pic).

Lovely quilt, total enjoyed seeing the custom quilting you did to give it that extra special touch.  It is also interesting that since you are not overworked you seem to be more willing to accept less than perfectly perfection.

First I went into Live chat to see if anyone was playing there.  It's a great tool.

Blue Ridge Beauty blocks and layouts.  I have a bin of this block all the time. Make them as Leader/Enders.  I've made a couple of these tops over the years. Easy Peasy and they look like you did a boatload of work..

Put the borders on two other smaller throw size quilts and border 1 of a QOV.

Also getting my stuff ready to load up for the UFO Sewing group tonight & tomorrow.  We have dinner brought in from a local Mexican place and stay until almost 11 pm, when the lights in the parking lot go out.  We leave everything in place and go back to sew all day Saturday. Once a month event and very productive.  We also help get things basted.  Which is my weak spot.  well that and actually quilting the darn things.

Actually quilting is a completely separate project!

It turned out great! Congratulations on another UFO bites the dust.

Slowly working on my UFO pile. This was two about.com swaps from the early 2000's. Bearpaw blocks and log cabin blocks. Started in the center. This will take a bit to finish so I basted it first so I can take it off the machine. This is my third UFO to be quilted so far this year. I have 10 more in a nice stack on the shelf and that is just tops waiting for quilting.
