I have been working on the Winding Ways blocks.. I packaged as many as I could into sets.

Had a to create a few new pieces to get full Winding Ways blocks without repeats.

Had a few pieces left over and they were sitting on my ironing board and it occurred to me that maybe I could make something out of the leftovers... so...this is what I came up with:

not sure WHAT it looks like though!!

and... not sure what I am going to do with it!

Could be the top of an adorable wrist pincushion.

(Can't really tell how large this is so perhaps it could be something bigger and better but the wrist pincushion is the first thing that popped into my mind.)

ooh...that would be for one honking big wrist!! Block is 6 inches from edge to edge...it could be the top for a really big pincushion...

I tried folding it but...since its not really a regular-ish shape, it doesn't fold over nicely. (Have you seen the pincushions made from hexies? They fold over nicely)

Hum...maybe a mug rug?? Start of a modern art piece?

I don't know if it could be expanded...might have to think on it!

Looks like a fun applique project. Made to order for you!

Fun! So glad it found a good home!

Kinda looks like a kite to me, but what would you want in the shape of a kite?  Hmm, perhaps use it for the label, and add a tail (like, couched down).   ;o)

That will be a beautiful wall hanging.  The beads should be a great accent.  I think all of your quilts are worthy of a quilt show.  Even your simple quilts and I spy quilts are wonderful.

Moving is an eye opener for sure.  You never actually realize how much stuff you've accumulated until you move.  Hope all goes well and you can get it all done this trip.  How long are you in NM?

Since I am apparently able to post today, I will try to post some pictures of some charity quilts I've been doing.

This is a bird house quilt done from some swap blocks from many years ago.  I found these in Denise's stash and loved them.  The picture is a little dark since they put our sun screens up.   It's a bright, beautiful quilt.  I gave it to our church quilt group for charity.

Next is one made of scraps I found in the fabric closet at church and made it my mission to use them up.

Lastly, this is a top that Patty put together at the retreat.  I just finished it.
