What Are You Working On Now?   General Discussion

novelty scraps, this one made a small dent in my 2x4s.  I gave myself permission to repeat so it went together very quickly.  I've done something similar before but I think it was with different sizes - too long ago.  I think this particular layout is called potato chips.  I can see where it would be easy to just keeping making the blocks.

Probably called "Potato Chips" because you can't stop after making just one ....

I'm thinking that the Lumberyard Ladies showed us something very similar several years ago, but they called it something else.  Whatever you call it, I like it.

yes, I'm sure you are correct.  I learned such great ideas from them, still using them.

Cool design. Looks like it would go together pretty quickly.

This is the third kit I brought to the 2021 VOS retreat and it did not get touched. I found the 64 9" squares in a scrap bin nicely rolled up and treated myself to some sewing this week. These are the blocks laid out on the design floor. I did move a few more blocks after this photo but I now have them sewn into 8 rows. I am really happy with this one. It is my 4th quilt using mountain majesty blocks.

I found some random 9 patches in pink. Don't know where I got them. i'm going to cut them into "disappearing 9 patch" and assemble. LOL!!! someone'll like it!

I made a quilt with potato chip blocks.  Then I decided to make another quilt and keep going around until the block was quilt size.  Hoped to make a dent in my scraps but no such luck.
