VALLEY OF THE SUN
ARIZONA RETREAT
February 14 - February 16, 2020

The retreat dates are Friday, February 14th, through Sunday, February 16, 2020.  The retreat will be held at the Quality Inn Phoenix Airport.  They are giving us a group rate of $99.99 a night.  This price is still lower than most hotels of equal quality during our February high tourist season in Phoenix.  Click here to see the hotel website.

We are figuring the hotel rate for 3 nights since most will want to arrive on Thursday, February 13.  The rate for two double beds or one king bed is $99.99 (with tax 12.57) x 3 nights = $337.68  for one person.  For two people it would be $168.84 per person for 3 nights.  Each room has a refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker.  Check-in time is 3:00 p.m. and check out is at 12 noon.  You are on your own to make your hotel reservation and if you share a room with someone, be sure that only one of you reserves the room. 

You can make your room reservation by calling 1-480-893-3900.  If you have a preference for a 1st-floor room, a king or two double beds, be sure to request that when you make your reservations.  To get the special rate you will need to tell the reservation desk that you are calling about a group booking with the Valley of the Sun Quilters.  

The hotel has a large meeting room which will allow us to accommodate 32 quilters, including the Arizona hostesses.  The cost to attend the retreat is $150.00 (this is in addition to your hotel costs.) The retreat fee is needed to cover the cost of renting the meeting room from Thursday noon through Sunday, lunches, refreshments/snacks, and a few amenities.

Dinner,  on your own. You have the option of going out to dinner, or preparing something in your room.  There are plenty of fine restaurants or fast food places within walking distance of the hotel or we can carpool to restaurants around the area.

We ask that you pay a deposit of $50 at the time of registration with the balance being due by Saturday, January 18, 2020.  Registration will be based on the earliest postmarked envelopes received (not first received).  Important: No envelopes postmarked before Monday, November 4, 2019.  If you must cancel prior to January 18, 2020, your deposit will be 90% refundable. 

Criteria for attendance
1.  Priority based on postmark date of registration and deposit.
2.  People who are active in our quilting forum.
3.  Personal interaction and compatibility with the group.
4.  Hostesses have the right of refusal.

In the past we have been asked if we are a non-profit group.  To clarify: we are not professional event planners, just a group of women who met on this forum and wanted to get together in person. We don't make money on this retreat.  If you have never attended one of our retreats, we encourage you to come to join us and meet the friends you have made here on this quilting forum.
