Good gollly, Miss Molly. That is surely a prize winner!! I saw my question answered, that it took three and a half years to make. It probably took over a year to collect all of the fabrics. What a labor of love. Is there any more information available about the quilt .... who made it, where, etc.?
Certainly does take a person's breath away.

I found these two links. I couldn't even imagine working on something like that.

Wow. That shaded background would be the *hardest* thing to make. Love the inclusion of the little flowers in the background hexies.

Lynne, you really should not tease our dear Pirate while she's working on her current masterpiece. LOL Let her have her nervous breakdown over that one first.
Here's what I found out about the woman who created the dazzler you just showed us:
ETA: Frankly, IMHO, the woman must be some kind of robot. (No, I am not saying that out of jealousy. I am truly thinking she must be the kind of person who stitches those hexies in her sleep.)

LOL! Bwahahahaaa!. Uh, no.
I attempted a color blended background before and it was a dismal failure in that regard. You need to have TONS of similarly hued pieces to make the transition appear seamless. I don't have the patience to spend the time to acquire all those colors!
But it sure is pretty!

Boy, do you have THAT right! LOL! I have found yet another aspect that is causing me to thunk my head on the wall .. but I've worked through it and am plodding onwards.

Dear Pirate
I do hope you are rotating your head with the thunking of your head on the wall. Would not want you to have a flat spot on one side. LOL
Everyone needs to be challenged, you just pick BIG challenges.

oh .. good idea! make note: "rotate head to even out the flat spots". Got it. :-)
and ... it is so *PRETTY*! :-)
Might I add now that I have different plans for the edge finish than what the pattern shows? Of course, I do. :-)
