Ami, I make no guarantees that you get a featherweight! We are having to borrow more machines then we hostesses have, but we will get you a machine. Are you flying this year?
Jan-7
Yes, I am flying, but I do have a FW case that will fit under the seat in front of me. Thanks.
Also, assuming the kits you and Cathy are assembling will be enough for a small children's quilt (larger than a baby quilt, more like a drag-around quilt) or an adult lap quilt, I think I could manage 2-3 tops during the retreat. I am not as fast as some (Patty, this means YOU!) but I think I could get that many done. It would also be nice to make some string blocks if locals will be bringing their scraps and strings. I can work with whatever you provide. Thanks.

JOnna,
I have varying projects! Some are fast and easy….some are more involved. And they are all sizes! So, you can pick what you like! Just knowing who is planning to sew kits helps us prepare!
i have a good start already, but am finishing retreat gifts. Then will work on kits again! Lord knows, I have TOO much donated fabric this year!

Can I just say….therapy sewing yesterday and today is making me feel more normal after last month caring for parents. I’m still worried about dad being so weak from Covid, and still working my way thru my feelings…..
but sewing is therapy that puts a smile on my face and contents my soul! It feels good!

I’ll be praying for her. The doctors can do such amazing things now!!

thank you!
Daughter says they will have the plan done by Monday and will do the surgery Wednesday..and baby will be in the hospital for 3-5 weeks after.

There’s a slight chance I could bring my own featherweight. I know the rooms have microwaves but is there anyone local that has a single burner hot plate that they could bring for me to use starting Thursday? If so then it would be much easier to say yes to bringing my own sewing machine.

BREAKING NEWS! I have cleared a path to my sewing machine. I repeat, I have cleared a path to my sewing machine! I have not sewn in probably two years. Probably the last time I touched a sewing machine was when we did a virtual quilt retreat, whenever that was.
I’m on a mission, my niece is having a baby and I just learned this week that her shower is in two weeks! My goal is to have a top ready to bring to the shower. Luckily I already have a lot of iSpy squares cut so I really just need to do sashing and a border. While that might sound perfectly reasonable on the surface, it’s going to be a little tricky with all of my other responsibilities.

Misha, I sure now, that we can get enough machines for everyone to use w/out you bringing yours! I just am not sure at this point how many FW will be available.
(lol, our supply is slightly different). I know you have food issues to deal with! Don’t worry about your machine!
i hope someone replies about a hot plate….I don’t have one!
