I do all of my piecing/quilting on an old black Singer 15-91 and wouldn't have any other machine. However, the light on it isn't very good and lately I have been using a lot of black fabric.  Black thread and black fabric on a black machine was giving me eye strain!  On good old Amazon I found a LED magnetic sewing machine light with the goose neck.  Was I ever amazed at how well I could see!  Best $16 (there were two lights in the pack) I ever spent!
