Since Suze lives about 2500 miles away from me she is a clever rascal to drive me crazy from such a distance but she's doing it. In an effort to tidy up my sewing room I sent her one of my color wheel wall hangings and in appreciation for such a gift she sent me a jigsaw puzzle as something to keep me busy now that I am no longer making quilts.
Of course she picked the most challenging, ornery, wicked jigsaw puzzle she could find. This was no sweet little old lady jigsaw puzzle, this is a 1000 piece exploding doozy of a color wheel gone wrong puzzle.
I started working on it and then gave myself a break by working on a normal 500 piece puzzle and now I've come back to "Suze's Challenge"..............
First photo includes the box lid with the illustration showing the exploding colors. My first challenge was to sort all of the pieces into boxes separating the pieces by color groups. Alas, many of the pieces have multiple colors. Fortunately this puzzle is expertly cut; I can tell it is a pricey puzzle because of the quality of the cardboard and the precision of the die work. Note that little cluster of six pinkish pieces near the bottom border that have been auditioned for the empty space?
That finally grew to nine pieces before I learned that the ninth piece would fit in the empty space and I could stop searching for the one piece ..
I will not give up on this puzzle. It might take me months but I will not give up on it.

Sooo my question for you in all seriousness is are you having fun with this puzzle?

In all seriousness, it is not "fun".
It is certainly challenge and I wish it was 500 pieces, not 1000.
But I am plodding along like the old grey mare that I am these days and when I get annoyed with the puzzle I flop on the couch and read some more pages in my James Michener epic novel. When I get restless with the novel (The Source) I jump off the couch and go back to the puzzle. This is how I fill my afternoons.

it's a challenge to the ole grey cells~
I too would glue it when it was done!

Wow!! That is a doozy,, but it looks like you have a good start on it. My folks used to put puzzles together and at one time did one of a old black Singer sitting on a quilt. They glued it and framed it and it is hanging in my sewing room. You should do the same with this lovely "color wheel"

That sounds like a lovely puzzle, Lynne. I'd like to solve one that easy right about now ...
