Elsa was adorable to watch during the zoom meetings. I never figured out why she is bottle fed. Did her mama have problems? Keep us posted on when she can join the rest of the herd.

Elsa was a triplet born during the  arctic cold in Feb.  Born in the evening, by morning she was so cold and almost dead.  Brought her into the house, put her in a sink of very warm water,(keeping her head above water of course!) warmed her up and tube fed her colostrum several times, but the next day she could suck and not is a bottle baby.  It was too cold to try and put her back, and the mom would probably not have taken her back. Mom still had twins to care for, so Elsa is a bottle baby.  We go out and visit the sheep several times a day now, but I am still mom, and she gets panicky when she can't see me.  If it warms up, I may try putting her outside while still bottle feeding her. Right now, she is in a giant dog crate in the living room.

Cool :) Hope all of them go to people who need them!

Just a reminder that if you haven't emailed the retreat evaluation, you have until Friday to get it to me.  Of course, I would accept them after the 5th but I would like to have them before then.

Also, if you enjoyed your time at the retreat venue, it would be a nice gesture to go to their web page and leave your review for Vickie. . https://www.azhouseofcreativeretreats.com/

Well day Three didn't go so well.  My blood pressure went whacko - up and down.  And I spiked a fever...so I am in the hospital at least over night... for observation. It's not  Covid or the flu or a uti or pneumonia... Probably a reaction to one of the meds..

Sigh....they don't allow visitors...so G is going nuts

Oh dear Suze!  I'm so sorry.  I pray they can figure out what caused your BP to go whacko and what caused your fever.  May you get a good night's rest and be home quickly tomorrow!

We raised sheep when I was little and it seems like every year we had a bottle baby.  I remember a 7 UP  bottle with a nipple on it and the lamb stayed in a box in the kitchen.  I remember my dad giving one a tiny shot of whiskey when he brought it in nearly frozen.  Sometimes ewes just won't  accept their babies so you have to take over.

Yes, I don't think the ewe rejected her, she was just a little weaker than the other two and got to cold to make it on her own. She runs the house now!!

Suze I am so sorry you are going thru this.  I will be praying for you and G.

Oh Suze, prayers going up for you.
