How exciting! I imagine it will be hard to leave the beautiful home you just had built though. I followed your progress on Facebook and loved how it all came together. I was especially taken with the beautiful yard you put in. Now you'll get to work your magic on another place.
I just looked up AAA and was excited to learn that they have an office in Sun City West. We live in Sun City West. We've really enjoyed living here - it's a wonderful 50+ community and we love it. It has a mixture of newer and older homes, lots of active people with lots of fun activities going on all the time. I belong to a very active quilting club that meets within about 5 minutes of all of the homes in SCW. You'd be such a wonderful addition to the quilting club - you're so creative and the ladies would go wild for your quilts.
I'd be happy to take you around SCW, and areas near it, when you're here.

That would be great. We will be gone or watching the kids dogs a good part of June. July or august are pretty open. I'll look up locations of AAA offices and see what is in those areas.
How's the quilting going? Did you get the quilt for your bed done? Pictures requested if you did.

That sounds great. We will plan a trip for later in the summer and I will contact you then. We have teenagers to entertain this trip mostly.

Quilting is going great. I need to get another project ready to go on the longarm but I finished the duvet cover.

The weather will be better in June, but we do need to see what we are In for with the hotter weather. I am tightening up plans with my daughter and sister in law. We might be able to squeeze in an afternoon or something this trip. The guys will be golfing a lot. The girls have looser plans. We do want to find a good place for a massage while we are there. We also would like recommendations of other activities that would be fun.

Where do you live now?
I guess I should explain my curiosity. My parents retired to Bradenton, Florida in 1980 after living their entire lives in places that experienced serious winters (Indiana, Ohio, Michigan and New York) and they vowed that they never wanted to see snow again.
DH, our kids and I visited them twice a year until my DM passed away 1998 and my DF finally moved back north to live near me in 2001. (He passed away in 2008.)
After DH and I spent summer weeks in Florida with my parents we learned about heat, traffic, humidity, traffic, bugs and traffic in that state and resolved to stay put in Ohio when we retired.
We personally felt that staying trapped indoors in the summer in an extremely hot climate is not that much different than staying trapped indoors in an extremely cold climate. Just the opinion of two northerners who are stick-in-the-muds. LOL

Estrella Mountain Ranch, where you'll be staying, is in the southwest part of town, not too far from where we live. If you have an afternoon free, it's a straight shot down the 303 highway to get to the AAA office in Sun City West, and to see housing in our area. I'm happy to show you a couple of areas to check out (Sun City West, Sun City Grand, Corte Bella, Surprise, etc.) I was going to email some suggestions of activities near where you're staying but realize I don't have your email address.
