Hi all!

I went to Denton TX last weekend to attend my sister's in person graduation from North Texas University with her Master's in Library Science.  It was a nice weekend and it was such a delight to walk into the open stadium with my 89yo mom and to watch her reaction to seeing all of the chairs and platform set up on the field.  She even admitted she was so very glad she decided and made the effort to attend.  It was so very worth it for me to see her and my sister enjoy it as much as they each did.

The day after we returned DJ came home from school for 3 weeks before he returns to summer school in Atlanta and preparing to be a student researcher during his fall semester.  He's already been complaining about the heat and humidity and his friends who are well used to it are just laughing at him saying just wait until the real summer months!  He wants us to come visit him again during the summer but we sure are not excited about that during those months.

Due to my broken wrist I haven't been sewing (doctor said "No" after surgery.  But I might try a bit this next week as I really miss it.  My 6 week follow up appointment with the surgeon is in less than 2 weeks so I may "push" it just to try and get back to what I long to do.  I have stuff I want to get on with!!

I've been working on making my home happier! I had the LR painted and rearranged it (generally paint myself but the cathedral ceilings are too high even on my 6' ladder) I also painted the little baby sized bedroom (was my room when I had a roommate, but it's teensy. I made it a nice lavender color and made it a very feminine office, to use for my bullet journaling...a new creative passion...I've been doing classes online for gouache painting, drawing/doodling, etc.

Also, as of this past Monday, I am only working M-F!! Only one week/mo am I back up on call at night (if they're already at a death, they can request the call is sent to me, but most times I'll be able to sleep) . Not bad :) It's like 40-50 hrs/week instead of 90!

I have Britbox, after closing out on Netflix & Hulu.  No TV here so my computer is my watching device.  Love the less violent shows from the UK overall.  Prime Amazon has  great selection of all kinds of stuff.  I love documentaries, mummies, and such.  Plus they have tons of Mysteries, Crime shows etc as well.

Sherlock Holmes, anything Agatha Christie, and shows that solve old cases.

So glad the graduation went well. Would have loved to meet you but I know it was special family time.  Sounds like you had a wonderful time. I have not been to the new stadium. They have done s much new construction on campus since we left Denton it is hardly recognizable.

I would like to add BritBox, I love the British mystery shows, may do it.  Still like Netflix and have Prime, I do like the shoot em up shows-LOL. No cable, outside antenna for local stations and PBS.

Do try Britbox.   You can cancel at any time.  I pay $6.99 a month and really enjoy it.

It has all the Agatha Christie shows & movies, and a bunch of other comedy & more serious Who Done It Crime shows.   Shakespeare & Hathaway, Death in Paradise, Midsomer Murders and Sherlock Holmes come to mind quickly.  But there are tons of others that are worth your time.  I watch while I sew.

I called it "filing by piling.". A couple years when I was teaching, I had to stack all my hand-outs against the walls of my way-too-small office.

Ok you really are a desert rat!  Lol

we used to do the same!  It was a 15 min walk from the house to the town pool. Mom was sick and tired of buying us new sandals so she would tell us “ok you need to lock up your shoes” we’d forget and stolen again. Then she gave us stricter rules, well we just didn’t wear shoes, ever. We would run from patch of grass to patch of grass or use the corner of our towels to stand on for a break.
hated shoes, still do, but now I have to even wear the flip flops inside, the floors to hard on my back.
if we got really hot we’d just run up in somebodies yard and turn on the hose and cool down.
