say...does anybody know if Denise did any hand piecing? One of the things I picked up at Retreat was a small kit of sorts with Winding Ways templates and cut fabric pieces...when I got the bag home and looked at what was in the bag, there are two completed blocks that are hand pieced - with very fine stitching.
I don't recall her ever doing any hand piecing but the kit could be very old...or it could be something she picked up from some one else.
There are a couple more blocks worth of pieces already cut... I will do them by hand and see if there is enough to at least make a table runner. The fabrics are WILD! (and there is some paisley in the mix, which doesn't sound like Denise at all, but then there were enough paisley fabric pieces on the table at Retreat that it was startling)
Denise did Not do hand sewing…..she had to have acquired those somewhere else. She did love the winding ways block though….don’t remember her doing it, but she always wanted to.
How fun to be at another retreat but to do so so quickly following our retreat has got to be tiring. I hope you are able to get a lot done!!
KSCarolyn said...I worked on the quilt I started last year for my granddaughter. I got the blocks finished and assembled some rows.
Good for you!

Now THAT certainly does sound like Denise!
nah, not that I now of. But she bought a batik winding ways kit from me...

fabric on these blocks is definitely not batik...
The mystery of where these blocks came from deepens!!
Post a picture of the winding ways. Sounds like a project I got rid of on the giveaway table in about 2018. I was handpiecing the winding ways on my way to Texas. On the way back from Texas I had my pulmonary embolism. I never wanted to work on that project again. Post a photo and I will tell you if that is the one I got rid of.
