I just received a thank you from Marcia Hohn and Quilter's Cache for the "generous" donation that all the retreaters gave to her site. We again used one of the blocks, the sawtooth star and it's variations, from Quilter's Cache for our lotto block this year. We had great participation and 5 of us went home with enough blocks for a quilt.

That’s great Cathy. I know our donations over the years have really helped her site.
Ladies, here’s a pic of my new grandson Monty Tyler Price.
the midwife didn’t make it in time and I had to deliver him!!! It was both exhilarating and terrifying. He was really blue but I used my hand to clean his face, nose, and clean out his mouth, finally he cries as I was rubbing his chest. (Something I read).

You delivered him??!! Oh my, I would have been terrified. !! Congratulations! He is a little doll.

Thanks, when I realized the midwife was 25 minutes out (really 40 ). I admit I had 1 minute to literally freak out. Then I called on the Lord to help me because I had nothing within reach except a towel. And let me tell you I was so glad I had that towel. (She was in the tub). I pulled the drain up to let the water out and there he was.
now I can relive it in my mind and still can’t believe it.

OMG. Had you anticipated that might be a possibility? Had you read up on midwifery techniques?? How on earth did you know what to do????
I am SO glad that all ended well and that mother and child are doing nicely.
What an incredible entrance into the world and something to write in his baby book!
Congratulations and well wishes to all!

This just totally blows my mind! Did she go into a quick labor? How far away was the midwife? Was there anyone to help you? Is this her first baby? Sorry about all the questions--I'm just in awe.

Congratulations on both your delivery skills and your grandson. Now make sure you write up the ordeal, include your feelings.

wow! That's amazing, congrats to the Mommie - and kudos to you grandma! One of my daughter's friends delivers very quickly. Her 1st two were delivered at home by her husband because he had no choice - fortunately he is a nurse - tho not in neonatal. She's now pregnant with her 3rd. If I were him I'd be studying up.
