I've wanted to make an attic window quilt for a long time. Yours is lovely and might give me the jolt I need to start one (after I finish the two quilts I'm currently working on).
Your Deep Blue Sea is fantastic!
Thank you Marcia! It was a lot of fun to make. Too many ideas spinning off from it!
LOL! I call Judy's quilt "Hot Flashes" in my mind!

Silly Marcia! I'll drag this quilt to your house when I have a hard time lining things up for the quilting session on Lily Aurora and stuff it in your mailbox!
Actually I plan to spend the next few months working on polymer clay "things" for the flower pots on our deck. Birds, flowers, butterflies, etc. All on stakes. None realistic but instead very "primitive" or child-like as if designed by Picasso on a good day.
I got so exasperated by the squirrels this spring, digging up my wax begonias to root out their acorns that they had buried in my large pots that I resolved to stop planting real plants in my pots in the future. Then those tree rats can bury their acorns and dig away with no harm to my polymer beauties.
Sorry, Pirate. I really got off topic, didn't I? Bad Judy
Sorry, Pirate. I really got off topic, didn't I?
Oh not to worry. I have a Black Thumb. I kill cactus plants. But I just love flowers. Therein lies the problem.
Well, I have had this wonderful geranium plant/bush outside our front door. It has been doing utterly fantastic all these years without me doing a darn thing. Then, last fall, those lousey deer ate almost all the leaves on the plant .... a section at a time. Every day, I'd come out to see yet another section of my lovely plant denuded.
I was outraged. I had a murderous glint in my eye. I don't particularly care for venison, but believe me when I say that I was seriously contemplating stocking our freezer with freshly butchered meat. Mr Pirate said that it would grow back like gang-busters in the spring because the roots were still in tact and that's what plants like to do in the spring .. send out new growth.
I was SO pleased when that turned out to be true! I also got some deer repellent spray "just in case". Whenever I see Bambi and her young in the yard, I yell angrily at them, "YOU LEAVE MY GERANIUMS ALONE!". And then I put some more spray on the plants.
I also tempted Fate by stimulating my local nursery and bought three more potted geraniums of different colors. Two survived my ministrations .. the third took a dive.
I remain hopeful that all my geraniums continue to thrive because I really do like flowers. :-)
Hubby and I have been putting lots of plants in this spring. We will see how they do....time will tell.
Oh .. I forget where you posted about getting spam cell phone calls from your own number but .. just today it happened to me. I've had FOUR cell phone calls *from my cell phone number TO my cell phone number!*
For all of my contacts, I have a photo that I have attached as part of the contact information. I have myself listed in my contacts, along with a picture of myself. Imagine my surprise when I see the INCOMING call is MY photo! With MY cell phone number! I did answer the first call; it was a computer voice from "Microsoft" saying that my IP has been compromised and that I should press "1" to get a new one. Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. Whatever should I do???? Yes, I hung up. And then ignored the 3 subsequent calls.
I called my carrier, ATT, to let them know this had happened. They said they would open up a trouble ticket but I could be assured that my phone number and account information had not been hacked. The spammers are simply generating phone numbers to call from. It's very annoying.
As a matter of general procedure, I do not answer calls from numbers that are not in my contact list. If you're not in my contact list, I probably don't want to listen to you. If you know me and you REALLY want to get a hold of me, you probably know my email ... from which I can get your phone number to put into my contact list. But if the incoming call comes up as an unidentified number, then it's not going to get answered.
Sigh....this is the third time today I have had to login. Really?
yea, the phone call from yourself is really surprising! And I do the same - I tell my students that also. If you call me with a question, leave me a message as I almost never answer unknown numbers. I will call back!
I wouldn't mind finding your quilt in my mailbox!
Here's an off-topic reply: try laying strips of chicken wire around the plants right after you put them in the pots. It helps keep the squirrels away because they don't like digging with the wire in the way. My problem last year was that one little bugger kept biting the begonia flowers off the plant and dropping them on the deck. No begonias this year. Hopefully the million bells and geraniums won't be as much fun to de-blossom.
