well not quite. My son is 22 years old. His I spy quilt was completed shortly after his 5th birthday in November of 2001. So only 18 years - but that quilt did start it. You know how when you are hunting for something, it is hard to stop looking - well I kept finding more and more cute fabric - some 300 quilts later here we are.
I remember working on C's quilt while listening to discussions about 9-11 on the news. We took it with us for a Christmas visit to grandparents at which I was admitted to the hospital with pneumonia and spent Christmas day with thinking I had TB and then a month off work recuperating. It was an eventful trip and the quilt was part of it. My daughter tells me they played with it in the hotel (tent, games, etc) while she was convinced I was going to die.

The firstest was the bestest .... but it was for your son so that is very appropriate.
Do I see 135 different fabrics in that masterpiece?
And of course you had some leftover fabrics from creating that first I Spy quilt so you had to keep on making more of them ....

I did use the same fabric more than once but different pictures. I had tried to purchase fabric with multiple pictures. I also swapped with someone on the forum. It was a Quest.

Here is a quilt I just finished for the newborn baby of our DD's sister-in-law. I didn't have to buy anything to make the quilt! I love stash diving. The animals are machine embroidered.

Is this a government job? Sounds like it should be

Oh, that's a sweet little quilt. Love the nine patches and then the embroidered blocks ....

Shockingly enough it is not. They could give the DoD a run for their money though.

It is a lovely quilt. Glad you put your machines to use as well as your stash.
