Kathy's main suggestion is to emphasize "brights". I possibly included too many brights that have a lot of white in the backgrounds at first but I am trying to cut back on those. Piecing these rows is so relaxing ... turns out I like no-brainer work during these endlessly rainy days in Ohio.

Well I have put my pants on the back burner and have made 4 new Hexi cubes today. I am making 3 different sizes so I now have 2 small ones (red and violet), I large tourquoise, and 1 medium indigo. I just have 3 more to go 2 medium and 1 more large and then I will figure out how to put these in a vertical wall hanging. These hexi blocks are pretty tricky and you can see the start on https://enchantingquilts.blogspot.com I am gonna do another post tomorrow to update the ones I already showed.

I took a break from prepping my blue scrap stash to make combinations from the green units. I have discovered that I have many more medium greens than I have light and dark. If i want to use the leftover medium greens in a monochromatic theme, I'll need to delve into my yardage (rather than scraps). It's not that I don't have the proper colors in the scraps; it's more that the scraps aren't large enough to cut all the templates I need.
One green unit uses a green "stained" glass fabric that I have long loved. I used the fabric itself in a Lone Star wall hanging and what I have left is literally scraps. I was able to make a unit from what I had left, but it just didn't go with any of the other greens that I had. Since this fabric had some purple in it, I pulled a dark and light from my purple stash and made a Hollow Cube.
It's just so pretty! :-)
and Lynne? I also need to have a finished cube in front of me in order to place the pieced triangles correctly. It's so easy to get messed up.

Very nice cube. Well of the 5 I have made so fAR even with another in front I me I messed up all but the last. I think I finally realized I need to stare back and forth at those last few seams.

It's fun that you got inspired by her project!
It made me think of some of the projects we've (about.com ppl) have worked on together. We did the Trail mix quilt, which I still use. We did Shakespeare in the Park...which I just found as a UFO in my stuff. LOL!!! I'm sure there've been others, not to mention the swaps we used to do. :) Fun!

Judy...............here is something you can wrap your brain around.............I posted my rainbow of hexi cubes on my blog. They are fresh off the sewing machine and I just adore the simplicity of the geometry of the cubes and the setting I figured out. I know you like rainbows so go have a look https://enchantingquilts.blogspot.com
Now back to trying to finish sewing that pair of pants :)

Well, today will be a mystery day. Hubby asked me what ias going to do today.....Nothing?
hah! But I have no direct goals today. First, I finished a book that was almost done . Then I pieced a charity backing, but realized it need to be washed ( had a spot). So, I have a load in the washer - threw in some more flannel pieces I found at church to make a full load.
then, found sitting on the table my youngest 2 masks. He is going back into the classroom and wears masks. They need washing, so I hand eid those. And then washed another 2 dozen that I had just finished.
where next? Who knows, I think today will be let’s see which odd jobs sitting around call my name!
how about the rest of you?

Oh, Wow! Ami. I love your tower of cubes! Your link wouldn't come up for me on the other thread and I'm sure glad it did here. The look great and I love the placement. I have no idea what to do with mine yet, but you have inspired me.
