I am learning rug hooking...I have some hand woven fabric that I can get a crochet hook into...and I am looking at making a tree...If I like the process, I will invest in a real rug hook...but it has the same kind of end that a crochet hook has...so not too much difference...I cut up a bunch of my wool pieces into roughly  1/4 inch strips...its a slow process!

Making rugs is a great way to use up "ugly" fabric and make it look really pretty.

I have always wanted to learn how to do LOCKER HOOKING - looks similar to rug hooking, but you use long, continuous strips instead of thousands of shorter ones.

definitely decided to not add a pieced border, going to do just a narrow black one.  And I pieced some scrap fleece together for I spy backs.  And finished my taxes, worked on my resume.  bleck

did one of those a while back....with some fat quarters we got for one of the Left Right games...it was done on rug canvas...which is totally not like this hand woven fabric at all - where I have to 'make a  big enough hole' by wiggling the hook around ...

you can use longer strips with the rug hooking method I am doing,..I just don;t have very many longer pieces of wool!

you were a busy bee this weekend!

Me..I got some of the grocery shopping done....first went by Costco...the line  to get in was out the door, along the whole length of the warehouse and curved around some more...lawdsamighty...I would not wait in that line  outside in the heat we are having out here....a few folks had umbrellas for shade... the line at Smart&Final was not obvious from the outside...the line to buy stuff was at least 50 deep...and it wasn't moving very fast....at least it was inside in the A/C but holeycrimoly.... and no social distancing in either of those lines!!

Got food at Ralph's....there the wait lines for check out were 5 in front of me...so  it did not take too long (long enough though!) and they had enough social distancing markers on the floor...the prices are higher though...those other two are volume discounters...Ralph's is just an ordinary grocery store.

Oh and we efiled our taxes...that was a huge accomplishment for us....it only took one day this time - normally we agonize over them for at least a week...

I've made a couple of locker hook rugs and really enjoyed it.  The border and first row is a bit of a pain, but once passed that it's really quick and easy.

Oh Dee, your Kitty quilt is sew cute! I love the way you’ve done the tails.  Is there a pattern name and I missed it?

Can you use the fabric strips that you put together to cover your hangers? I know you have a lot of that.  The Locker Hooking looks fun.
