You know better than most that the long arm is not my area of expertise, but I agree with Ami.  I don't think you should trim it until after it is quilted.  I'm sure you could come up with an all over quilting pattern that would work.  I know you like the more custom quilting.  It showcases your skills.  In the end, it depends on what you want to do with it.  No matter, I have faith that it will be a beautiful quilt and your problem solving skills will win.

Hmmmm.   Thinking on all of your suggestions.

Me too. After spending so much time working on all those little parts it would be better to just have a little session with Jack and move forward again from there.

And...........if you do decide to rebaste keep in mind that the floor is a great flat surface, you may need to move furniture out of the way but it would give you the flat surface you need. Back in the day I used my dinning room floor, moved all the furniture and mopped the floors. Then I would literally use masking tape to attach the piece to the floor so it was good and square. Do not tell me this is too much work, it is one solution that is all.

You've already invested so much time, I just hate for you to get impatient now and regret it.  Easy for me to say. 

Once I looked at it and saw it was skewed, I really knew what I was ultimately gonna do.  I was resisting but I also know that I wouldn't be happy with the result if I left it that way.  Drats.  ugh.

some times it's good to talk it through.
