I saw a Donna Jordan video where she used a Cut-Rite template set. The big piece is 1/4 the usual template so you make square blocks instead of circles. Then the arc pieces are six sections you sew together and then you cut that template with an arc template so the finished arc is perfect. There are also little slots you cut into the cut pieces to line up your parts. After the video I thought wow that sure makes this much easier. I have a small wall hanging size I made years ago in the pickle dish variation of DWR so I know this is a difficult piecing project. I do hope to finish sewing the remainder of the arcs today.

Oh and when I cut this I cut 8 layers of fabric at a time so it went much faster. 

This is my test block. The real quilt has a cream background. The arcs are made of greens, blues and blue-green and the peices at the corners are two shades of blue.  Also there is no scalloped edge. I will add strips of beige and blue to make the quilt drop over the sides of the bed.

I am glad you are enjoying your self.Maybe you will later come to be a scrapper.

I can't afford another expensive hobby!  haha  Besides, I still have so much fabric to use up.  

I made a double wedding ring for my dau.law king size.Now they are getting a divorce. I wonder where the quilt  will now.I put a lot of work and time into it.

Oh, how very, very sad to think that a quilt you put so much work (and love) into might just disappear with no trace.

I do hope that your son and daughter-in-law do the honorable thing and give the quilt to one of their children (if they have any) or perhaps give it back to you so that you can donate it to a good cause.

A king size double wedding ring is my next project too!  All I’ve done so far is buy the fabric. Hoping to start next week. 

Soon I got a photo of my quilt. We had breakfast in Boulder CO and were gonna go to Costco but had an hour to kill so we drove up the hill to an overlook. I had  brought the quilt and informed DH that I wanted a scenic photo and he knows he can't refuse. We stopped at a scenic overlook and there was a couple on this rock taking selfies. I asked if they would be willing to hold the queen sized quilt so I could take a photo. The girl was asking if I made it.
