So I decided to do a YBR with some blue, green, and yellow 1930's. Mainly the thought was to use up a lot of them so the stash would get smaller. They used to be one of my favorites. Weeeellll...this will def have to be called a "YBR variation!" Can you call something that? You get to a point and you realize you don't have big enough pieces to do this, so you start piecing smaller scraps together...and then the next set needs pieces that are bigger...it'll be interesting to see how it looks in the end. LOL!!!

So, at retreat a brought a quilt made from left over oriental fabrics.  I used a postcard pattern called “October Sky”.   And I love that quilt - even have a offer to buy it!  (But, it is up at the shop as a sample…)

here it is before I bound it in the border strip fabric!

Well, this week I made it again!  This time using a donation piece in the center and picking leftover bits of fabric from my stash to coordinate.  A totally different look!  BEWARE - put on your sunglasses…..lol!

i am off to use up more donation bits and pieces to make more kits today!  I LOVE this pattern for using up bits!

Back in January I told myself to get some of my many  tops quilted before I started piecing any more.  Well, that didn't work!  However, I did manage to get 9  kid or nap quilts finished.  I got tired of waiting for it to be not so windy to hang on the clothesline, so I laid them on the deck for photos.  Not ideal, but at least I got photos..

I decided it was time to start eliminating my herd of vintage sewing machines. I put one n Facebook market place ( a 1938 Singer 15-91 with knee lever) to see what happens.  I was surprised that it sold within 24 hours!  It went to a nice lady who just rest retired and has a long arm.  I've been looking for someone to do a couple of my really big quilts and she agreed.  I just dread trying to iron that acre of backing  to get it ready.  And... she love piecing with really small pieces -- loves Bonnie Hunter.  guess who is gong to get a big bag of scraps that i thought I would do something with, but know I'll never get to it.

That is the prettiest "neutral" or tan-brown quilt I've ever seen; I think it is the white fabrics you included that put the sparkle in it. Great job on that one.
