Dee's place door hanger done   Show and Tell

Started Sep-25 by Dee in TX (DBRADFOR3); 1813 views.

It is hanging on the door to my sewing room, much nicer than the photocopy I had up there before.  It's hanging above my mother's special door knocker from my childhood.  I decided to do the scalloped edge again - but I think it will be the last time.  Geesh that is sure time consuming - I'm kind of impressed myself that I put it on a larger quilt.

I'm especially proud of the pumpkin applique.  And the chickadee is at least identify-able though not particulary accurate.

I love that. so pretty. love the bird best I think.
now of course, i want one.

the pattern is by Judy Craddock, Autumn.  It's part of a 4 season group.  You could easily do fusible on machine too.

That is simply beautiful, Dee.

thanks Shelley.  It makes me smile every time I walk past it.  Now I need to figure out the next hand work project.  I purchased a little Christmas tree embroidery project at a show recently, I may do that one next.  I am still looking for a good background for the Thimble blossoms pattern. I want to find a white with tiny black specs (almost flea size) but everything I've found the dots are large and I think they'll distract from the pattern.  I might have to come up with something else, but I definitely don't want cream.  And I don't think I want the usual white on white as needling that stuff isn't particularly fun.  Maybe a white shirting fabric with a light shadowy plaid.

Dee came across something that might work for your black on white.  I'm sorry I don't know how to copy n paste on the iPad.
