TRAVELING attendees  (who requested a machine): Who can POTENTIALLY  bring your own machine if needed?  Contact Ellen….[we will confirm with you later, if we can provide one]   For now, we need to know our options for planning!

Ellen:  I can bring my machine, I have a case that will go under the seat, so check me off the list that needs a machine!

one piece 30 inches, the other 36 inches...the larger one makes a border on the smaller one.. edited to add: or as Pirate and Patty said..any size as long as the bigger piece is 6 inches bigger!

Or, as I usually do, cut a WOF square, then cut a 6 in  smaller square for the top.  that way you are not wasting a strip for the bigger piece.  Trying to cut down on scraps-HA!!

I wanted to borrow a FW. It is always much appreciated.

Jonna, yes, Cathy and I are making charity kits.

we are trying hard to precut them as cutting and ironing spaces are more limited then in past years.   So try8 g to get a feel for how much we need to get ready….

jonna, are you flying?  If bringing your FW is a hardship, we are beginning to balance needed machines.   I will confirm with you before retreat.

Ami, I make no guarantees that you get a featherweight!  We are having to borrow more machines then we hostesses have, but we will get you a machine.   Are you flying this year?

Yes, I am flying, but I do have a FW case that will fit under the seat in front of me.  Thanks.

Also, assuming the kits you and Cathy are assembling will be enough for a small children's quilt (larger than a baby quilt, more like a drag-around quilt) or an adult lap quilt, I think I could manage 2-3 tops during the retreat.  I am not as fast as some (Patty, this means YOU!) but I think I could get that many done.  It would also be nice to make some string blocks if locals will be bringing their scraps and strings.  I can work with whatever you provide.  Thanks.

JOnna,

I have varying projects!  Some are fast and easy….some are more involved.  And they are all sizes!  So, you can pick what you like!  Just knowing who is planning to sew kits helps us prepare!

i have a good start already, but am finishing retreat gifts.  Then will work on kits again!  Lord knows, I have TOO much donated fabric this year!

Can I just say….therapy sewing yesterday and today is making me feel more normal after last month caring for parents.  I’m still worried about dad being so weak from Covid, and still working my way thru my feelings…..

but sewing is therapy that puts a smile on my face and contents my soul!   It feels good!
