Love the quilt, Judy!   That's an exceptional pattern to use up scraps in a very imaginative way.

Daisy is adorable.  I do miss having cats but since Mr. Pirate & I travel frequently (long road trips), having a pet would be unfair to everyone.  We wouldn't take the pet with us and don't want to board it every time either.  Maybe when our traveling days are over, we can get another cat .... or two.  :-)

My DD takes her cat to the vet's office where they have vet techs that trim her kitty's claws. I think it is something like $25.00 for this service. (That's big city living for you.)

I wanted a declawed kitty because it became very difficult for DH to trim our Misty's claws in her later years ... she disliked the procedure and it became a huge hassle. I thought it would be best if we could avoid the whole issue with a new adoptee.

Our traveling days are certainly over and DH has always loved cats. (I'm allergic to cats but I adapt to a cat living in my house after a few months of sneezing. Allergic reactions to everything are getting weaker as I age.)

This was definitely a low-stress project; kinda reminded me of days of playing with paper dolls long long ago when I was sick in bed with measles, mumps or whichever disease had me quarantined in ancient times. Bright cheery colors, sharp scissors and in no big hurry ... it was as if I was a child again.  wink

Well I'm going to ask the next time I take her to the Vet. Right now i'm wondering why she is sleeping so much and with her back to me. She lets me kiss her on the head but lays it down again. Hopefully she is just tired! kitties.
Oh i sneeze like crazy. living back in Texas seven years now but still sneezing!!! I know, i have a cat. had three for years.

Now, that is one cheery and colorful "wall hanging"  certain to brighten up your sewing room!  Good job on the random scattering--I have a tendency to want to line things up. I can randomize color, struggle with shapes.  That's a lot of circles to cut! Those must be some great scissors--surgical quality.  Didn't that bother your wrists?  Mine hurt just looking at it.  Does  DH have any thin strips of wood in his shop? You could make a frame for around it and call it done for now.

Cute kitty.  I bet DH is happy to have a friend to sit on his lap.  I couldn't imagine my house without my dogs--they are such company when you have a workaholic DH.  I'm OK with being around cats, but if I should pet one then forget and rub my eyes, they will itch and swell up like crazy.  Enjoy the new addition to your family.

Yeah, I am washing my hands a lot lately, that's for sure.  And blowing my nose a lot more. stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes But I will eventually adapt to her as I did with our previous kitties.

The small Fiskar snips are very ergonomic so when it came to cutting out those small circles they were perfect, especially since I paced myself. I suspect that you would not be able to do that. LOL

I love this quilt!  So bright and colorful!  It will look amazing when you finish it.

Loving all the circles but especially loving Daisy!  Dog people can love kitties, too, and bless you for adopting a shelter pet!

As an aside (NOT trying to make this all about me), the 5dogmom only has two now.  As we aged, 5dogdad and I agreed that we needed to downsize in number as well as size.  Miley (Chihuahua mix) and Pico (Sheltie/Corgi cross?) came from the shelter and have blessed our lives beyond measure.

My sister gets some kind of tips on her cat's front claws.  I wonder if your groomer or vet provide such a service?  Anyway it looks like a cat manicure!  LOL!

What delightful "adds" to your home and lives!!  I'm so glad to see you creating again and Daisy sure looks like she's enjoying her new home!
