I did too. It’s a favorite and now we get to see how Nolan gets out of the mess he’s in.

No surprises there, just relief. American a Idol is so old, though.  Teen contestants weren’t even born yet when it first started.

The only real surprise to me was that second-season comedies Bless This Mess, Schooled and Single Parents all got axed. All three finished the season with a better average 18-49 rating than black-ish and American Housewife, both of which got renewed. Schooled and Bless This Mess also finished ahead of mixed-ish and The Rookie. I absolutely did not think Schooled would get cancelled, seeing as it's produced by the same team behind The Goldbergs.

Also, Stumptown and Emergence finished with the exact same average rating, second worst on the network ahead of only Fresh Off the Boat. but only Stumptown got renewed.

Stumptown has a core, loyal fan base. Maybe that was enough to put them over the top. I don’t watch any of the others.

I want to know how Armstrong was able to do all that construction work in Nolan's house without him noticing.

I forgot to look for Stumptown! Glad about that one, too.

Yes, I wondered that too.  It looks like it was written too quickly.

At least we get to find out. If they get to resume filming, anyway. Fingers crossed.
