It was suggested that forum members could benefit from some info on keeping their PC's up to snuff.

The following links are products I have been using for a long time, some for years.

Most have free versions as well as paid versions and in my opinion the free ones have been fine for me.

I'll pay if there are extra features that I want such as with AVG Tune-Up.

I run these programs fairly often, at least once every two weeks.

The anit-virus programs are always running.

Anti virus and Anti Malware programs:

Avast AntiVirus - http://www.avast.com/en-us/index

AVG has an assortment of freebies:  http://www.avg.com/us-en/homepage

Malwarebytes - http://www.malwarebytes.org/

Spybot Search&Destroy! from Safer-Networking - http://www.safer-networking.org/

Programs to keep your PC running well:

CC CLeaner from Piriform - http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner

Smart Defrag from Iobit - http://www.iobit.com/iobitsmartdefrag.html

Ad-Aware 11 from Lavasoft - http://lavasoft.com/index.php

Reg Seeker from Hover Desk - http://www.hoverdesk.net/

AVG Tune-Up - http://www.avg.com/us-en/avg-pctuneup

Whether or not you have a Pop-Up blocker this one is pretty good:

NoAds from South Bay Software  http://www.southbaypc.com/NoAds/

If you want more control over SPAM in your email get:

Mailwasher from Firetrust - http://www.mailwasher.net/

I use the paid version Mailwasher Pro and have reduced SPAM to a rarity:

Mailwasher Pro: http://www.firetrust.com/products/mailwasher-pro/

Lastly here is the link to the free IrfanView image manipulation program:  http://www.irfanview.com/

I'm not connected in anyway with any of these companies other than I use their products.

Your Mileage May Vary.....
