I've mentioned these in the room a couople of times, and was asked to post the recipe.  So here it is...

I've been eating these since I was 4 or 5 years old, and am still making them today.  My mom would make 'em occationally as an enticement & reward for keeping my room clean, keeping up with my chores, good grades, etc.

These are real easy to make, and as the title says... there's no baking involved.  They're cooked in a pot on the stove-top, and then either poured into a buttered cake-pan (9 x 13 or whatever you got), or on to a sheet of wax paper and allowed to cool before cutting them into squares.

Here we go:

INGREDIENTS:

4 CUPS SUGAR

½ CUP COCOA

¼ CUP COFFEE MATE

1 CUP WATER

2 STICKS BUTTER

1 CUP PEANUT BUTTER (SMOOTH)

6 CUPS QUIK-COOK (1-MINUTE) OATMEAL

1 TSP VANILLA FLAVORING

INSTRUCTIONS:

PUT THE 2 STICKS OF BUTTER IN POT, BUT DO NOT HEAT YET

COMBINE SUGAR, COFFEE MATE, COCOA, & WATER IN A BOWL... MIX WELL

POUR IN POT W/ BUTTER... COOK ON STOVE AND BRING IT TO BOIL.  ONCE IT BEGINS TO BOIL... BOIL FOR 2 MINUTES ONLY!!

REMOVE FROM HEAT, AND STIR IN THE FOLLOWING INGREDIENTS ONE AT A TIME:

…ADD VANILLA FLAVORING

…ADD & STIR IN THE PEANUT BUTTER

…ADD & STIR IN THE OATMEAL (2 CUPS AT A TIME WORKS EASIEST)

POUR INTO A BUTTERED PAN, OR ONTO A LARGE SHEET OF WAX PAPER.

ALLOW TO COOL FOR ABOUT AN HOUR OR SO, THEN CUT INTO SQUARES & ENJOY.
