I just purchased a 08 Vstar 1100, but noticed the lack of a fuel gage. Is there one or am I missing it?

Use the trip meter. I try to fill up at 100 miles just to be safe, that's usually between 2.5 and 3 gallons. Obviously I could wait longer but 100 is a nice round number.

We don't need no stinking fuel gauges.

And just remember you have ~30 to 50 miles if you run out on main and switch to reserve.

Due to the double backbone there is no room for a sending unit in the tank. Use the trip meter and think about getting gas when you switch to reserve.
