Hi everyone,

Came home from a ride on Saturday and was doing some cleaning when I noticed something strange at my driveshaft.

What to do? Bring it to a shop? Fix it myself? (what happened??)

Looks like the seal cut thru the drive shaft cover. Everyone I know that this has happened to just removed the cover.

Hi Don,

Yes, in the meantime I have come to that same conclusion. Does that cover rotate with the shaft (for it to cut through?) I was thinking till I sourced a part or remove it to just tape it up to prevent rattle. But if the part turns that might prove difficult

Unfortunatly the part is ridiculously expensive in Europe ($400+ for a new shaft).

When I disassemble the driveshaft, can I just slip the tube off? Or is it a angle-grinder job?

It should just slide off after you pull the wheel and shaft.
