Vibrations and a rattle/tap noise from engine   Newbie Q&A

I’ve had my 2005 vstar 1100 classic with 9k miles for close to a year now. And since late spring I’ve noticed a vibration which I thought came from the tires (so I figured wheel bearings). But riding it a few times plus some googling. Idt it is, I believe it might be from the engine. Which is worse with faster speeds and mainly rpm. Then the noise came a few weeks after. It gets louder with the same as the vibrations. But I’ve noticed the noise isn’t always there as soon as I start it up and ride it a little bit. Any help would be grand. I’m learning as I go.

The first step is to synch the carbs. All the info on how to do it is in the KB.

Also check the middle drive nut for tight, if not tighten it and peen the threads to keep it there.. as Mick said, all in the Wiki!

and if your running spokes check them as well ... loose spokes make for a bumpy ride..
