So yesterday I decided to wash my 1100 vstar classic and rode it with no problem this morning I go to fire it up and I hear a clicking sound as I try to fire it and occasionally I get it to turn over a few but it's not string enough to fire it up so I trace the small black wire coming off my negative terminal that seems to be getting hot can someone please tell me what this wire goes to so I can get it to give me a better connection thx

The first thing you need to do is a voltage check. Follow the instructions in the wKB to get the proper charging for different RPMs.

So I did all that and found out the ground wire starting from behind the license plate fried all the way into the harness where it joins to 2 other grounds now my question is how can that happen simply over night after running so good?

You're got a short someplace.
