I asked earlier about my bike running best on 1/2 choke. I tried what was suggested but no go.
07 vstar 1100. Custom pipes and hyper charger.
The carbs were rejetted and adjusted 13 years ago and has ran great since.
I guess I didn't prep for winter properly and now I'm paying for it.
The front cylinder was not working so new plugs coil and wires, all oem. That didn't work.
I removed the carbs and had a shop that specializes in Japanese bikes take them apart and clean them.and synced on the bike.
After reinstall and syncing the problem persists.
I drained the gas and put fresh gas in then went for a ride. Still needs 1/2 choke to run smoothly.
Turning the choke off it sputters and misfires. Acceleration it runs good but backing off it sounds out of gas.
When I got home I shut the choke off and idled it.
The engine decided to be crazy and revved very high on its own.
I can't find an air leak, and the AIS is still installed.
If anyone nearby wants to look at it, or offer a suggestion I welcome any help.
Mail them to me. I'll rebuild them. The Hypercharger is junk.
I have already taken it to the shop.
I am wanting to get something to replace the hyper charger.
If they still aren't right when you them back Tim is the go to for them. Leave the Hypercharger for looks and go under tank Pods.

I don't know if this is still relevant since you took the bike to a shop, but I had a similar problem with mine and corrected it by turning the PMS screws about 1 turn further out (3 turns out of the seated position in total in my case). When the carbs are synchronized, clean and all the other stuff you've already checked too - try to get a stabile idle adjusting the PMS.
Didn't try that. Wish I had might have saved me some cash.
