I have a 05 1100 classic.

I want to do 14/16 in bars. They seem to be able 1in looking around it seems the factory is what 7/8 so is it better to drill out or change riser I want the bars to stay tight and not move as half I see

Thanks

chris

chris the stock bars are 1" in diameter. you can use any 1" bar and even some "chubby" 1.5" bars if they narrow down for the riser spacing. there is a "nub" on the right side control box that locks into the bars. i've ground this off 2 different bikes and rode them for a combined 16 years and never had a problem. you will need to extend the wires as well as the throttle and clutch cables and the front brake hose.

i got my longer cables and hoses from a vender on ebay about 10 years ago. sorry, i don't remember the vendor. some have used pacific coast star with some success. others have nothing but bad reviews. good luck.
