I used a Roadstar LED tailight. 2012 Yamaha ROAD STAR SILVERADO S (XV17ATSBW) Taillight | Yamaha Sports Plaza

Yes, I installed it in my 2007 V-Star 1100 Classic. It replaces the bulb without any modification. The housing has 3 screws which thread through the holes in the LED plate. Perfect fit. Nice look - probably 2-3 times brighter than the original bulb.
