i assume you scraped all of the old gasket off before reinstalling the cover. i found that the old gasket was a PITA to get off. used some foaming gasket remover and a plastic scraper to make sure it was all off before reinstalling the cover.

Yeah, all clean and bright. Paint remover plastic scraper, lacquer thinner and more scraping.
Not a lot of fun. I don't want to open it up again till I get the OEM gasket next week. Maybe then I'll be able to see what's going on.
